Do we need over 1000bhp?!
Not sure the instant low end would compare either...

Actually I’m sure it’s very good - I’m just tied into whipple with my set up...

Sorry for the hijack but robbyd I think it's you who I came across just outside Epsom a couple of months back picking up my mate in my LS1 VXR? Still need to check out your cars!

I have a 2300 on a forged engine (LSA block and ported heads). The blower itself is on the limit in terms of airflow so the 2650 would suit me, even if it meant the same airflow at less effort and lower IATs.

I’m going to enquire but I’m pretty sure this unit is bigger in all dimensions and I’d struggle to fit it under the bonnet of my Monaro. Would be great if they built the Heartbeat equivalent instead of the modular design.

Love this thread but to get the best from our cars we need a DSG gearbox to fit the Monaro, that way we could keep up with a M4 otherwise even a 1000hp is no good.

Love your enthusiasm though Wormas you keep me fully engaged with our cars.

Please keep it going maybe we could get 007 back to comment or even Roger?

Fitting a DSG box would totally alter the character of the Monaro (for the worse) or any other true muscle car. Manual all the way! I like the standard box despite it being a tad slow.
I know an M4 is a technical master piece, but those things drive themselves. No skill at all required to drive them fast.

Must admit I cannot remeber the last time I had trouble keeping up with anything & DSG gearboxes are not for muscle cars.

I suspect the 2650 maybe too tall to fit under my bonnet but I’ve contacted Magnuson to ask the question.

With a supercharged LS you only need a couple of gears to keep up with anything!

Indeed. I can quite easily pull away in 4th gear which must be good for nearly 150mph.

I like the spread of torque of the PD blowers. Means they work really well on the road.

If you really wanted a DSG experience...may as well just fit an auto, of which there are many options possible, albeit 4 speeds the easiest.

But a car like a Monaro doesnt need a DSG...although it is of course possible to fit one. Whether the cost really makes it worth it or not is another matter.

Dsg is no use for muscle cars, it’s manual or auto (due to the torque) both would ruin these cars.
