Just wanted to say thanks to Warren and his team for fettling my car today. MOT, 4 tyres and an inspection/service while I waited. The old girl is ready for summer!

Thanks for the kind words. Unusual for PH!

Yes the plate is a bit of a joke but it suits the car and makes people smile. They are a good bunch who know their stuff but never seem to do work that isn't required, no hard sell. They also can do fabrication and running a racing team, know how to look after performance cars. Highly recommended.

What colour is it ? Looks unusual unless it's just silver made to look different under that lighting.

I’ve said it many times before - Lovely car

I know the car has been reliable for a while but have you looked into a remap from Luis Sola? He’s been a revelation to most Holden owners, especially if you’re FI.

I had my cam’d / auto remapped and it’s much nicer to drive, some FI owners have seen night and day improvements with gains of up to 100whp

At very least I’d be interested to hear his feedback, he’s uncovered some horror stories from the major tuners.

BTW - For the avoidance I doubt, I have no vested interest in is tuning, just sharing a good experience...

I am well up for one of his remaps. I am right in thinking he dopes the maps remotely does he not. Where do you need to go to get it done? What is the ball park cost?

Odyssey Blue is the best colour, I should know smile
At most, there are only 23 in the UK and only available with the '05 facelift CV8 model, not the VXR.

Mine has a Wortec tune, mapped on the road and dyno. It starts, idles and drives like a standard car only much faster obviously. I wouldn’t want to mess with it given, as you say, it’s been reliable for quite a few years now.

Thank you. Yes, standard colour with VXR8 wheels and Pedders suspension. Gives the car a purposeful stance.

Is that 4 VXR8 front wheels or 2 fronts n 2 rears? If the latter, what was req'd to make the rears fit without issue?
And mirroring other comments, an absolutely beautiful example you have! Do you think you'll ever sell?

2 fronts, 2 rears with 285 tyres on the back. Monkfish did a minitub, widening the wheel wells to make room.

Don't think I'll ever sell it, it's been a labour of love for a long time. Nobody will pay what it would cost for me to part with it or recover what I've spent over the years. As they get older, nice ones will become harder to find and mines only done 30k miles.

I figured that soon as I realised the power you're running! The standard 235/245's were never gonna cut it!
Glad to hear you don't plan on selling. Nice to hear about these long term love affairs people have with their motors. Long may it serve you well and stay problem free. smile

It's a credit to you. I really like the VXR8 wheel on it, suits them so well. Is there a meeting everyone goes to by the way, as be good to see some of your respective cars at some point.

If you haven't all heard of it, there is a new place opened near me called Caffine and Machine, which is attracting petrolheads from up and down the country. I did meet one lad with a VXR8 there and I noticed a RO on the opening of the place on youtube. Might be a good place for a meet at some point as it's pretty central. Foods good and the car's it attracts are pretty impressive, as there is literally something for everyone.

It gets barmy busy though so you need to get there very early to get a parking space.
