Assuming you mean Monaro VXRs, yes, they started being registered early 2005 I believe, so you've got about a year's worth to look for thumbup

Yes there are, mine was first registered in March 2005 and iirc the tax is £310 per year.

Considering the fuel they take, on a heavy right foot😳
I wouldn’t be concerned about the road tax😂

Whilst you're right about this, buying pre-06 provides a substantial saving on this tax and makes it a little easier to justify owning such a beast.
This time I specifically wanted a 'low tax' model, that said wanted the 5.7 VXR which is that anyway.
It makes more sense to owners that use them as toys/hobbies/garage queens than people that daily them. Simply from a mileage point of view.

Having owned a number of £500+ road tax cars I can personally say it really does just feel like a proper rip off especially when those cars did less than 5k/year and it does sting every time.
Bit of man maths I know, but still somewhat relevant.

I went looking for an early one to save cash as I planned to keep it (long term). I've had it for 11yrs this year so the tax saving is now really clocking up. I too do low miles so its not loft in the fuel cost.
