Has any one had the ramjet headers fitted to their car, supplied by Walkinshaw.
If so are they worth fitting and the money.

Headers are always a good idea. What car is it for and do you have any upgrades already fitted

They look good and no doubt they will do the job, but they are bloody expensive. I think it depends on your car and build. If cost is no object ant you're chasing maximum power and torque, then fine. Otherwise there are cheaper options out there.

This is the way I'd go too.

I have had the Monkfish magic cams their switchable exhaust and headers and the induction kit.
I don't know how much better Walkinshaw,s headers would be over Monkfish,s headers.
They are a bit pricy.

I doubt if you will be able to tell the difference in real world driving. I assume you are talking about long tube headers which give the most powere and torque, but if you don't mind a set of mid length headers, give Stuart at AAS in Newcastle a call. They are hand made and very good quality. I've had them on my car for years without any problems.

Does changing the headers alter the V8 soundtrack at all? The reason I ask is that I have a Wortec exhaust fitted and have considered changing the headers too.

I do like the pure V8 sound that you hear from, say, drag cars.

I would expect a slight change in sound with a header change, but that would be a change in the type of header designe as opposed to the brand...I think?
As for sounding like a dragster they run open pipes, that would be fine for about 2 minutes before you had a massive headache.
Don't forget the firing order is different on our LS engines compared to the sound of an old school V8 assuming that's the sound you're after.
You might want to consider electric cut outs, that's pretty much the best of both worlds. I have QTP cut outs fitted to mine, they are located just prior to the rear silencers.
You do have to look after them and keep the clean so they don't seize up.

Thanks for the reply. Different firing order... I hadn’t thought of that.

Yes I’m aware of the straight pipe dragsters but I’ve also heard this V8 sound on road cars too.
