Maloo - registered as LGV or PLG?
Discussion
I was wondering if any Maloo owners have their trucks registered as an LGV on the V5?
I'd like to get one as a company van, bought and run through my ltd. company. It seems to meet all the criteria for HMRC's definition of a van, I was just concerned that if the tax class is wrong there could be a problem.

The Dvla registered mine as a van i did not need to ask them to do it , it’s a ve2 ls3 maloo , there will be similar build models packs for importing , if you are importing or buying in the uk , if you know a reg you can look up on line for free , my previous ute a vy on a 53 was registered as a van too , i think you should be fine importing or buying uk and the dvla showing as a van
Mine is down as a Commercial vehicle on the logbook but my tax is £538.
On the Isle of Man we had 40mph and 50mph stickers on commercial vehicles but that was back in the early 90's when I had a Mini van. Can't say I have noticed any stickers for years, like as if I am going to stick to 50!

from reading up , Car derived vans plus vehicle weight mean the speed restrictions don’t apply , i don’t think any one is bothered any way as it’s not like a van in that sense
Car speed limits only apply to car derived vans with a GVW of less than 2 ton. So in no way will a Maloo be in that category.Even most "small" vans no longer meet that criteria.
Bothered or not, the speed camera will still nab you so just be aware. I've had friends here scooped for speeding on A roads in VW Caddy's as they were unaware of the above.
