As above , i’m looking for the bypass wire so i can open up the bi modal valves with a different switch , as at the moment the ecu controls it , i have searched the web but can’t find any thing for a ls3 ve 2 as it does not have the display which the ve3 does have , the bi modal system is fitted it opens around 2000 rpm but then seems to close again after around 4000rpm ?? , don’t know if it’s a fault or is it supposed to ? any thoughts please thanks

I don't know where the wire is but I don't think that the behaviour that you are seeing is a fault.

My Ute did exactly the same thing - you could watch the open/close areas on a graph on the EDI screen - it has ECU controlled rules about when to open/close but I could never work out the exact criteria to trigger it.

So I asked WP to fit a switch - which they did :-)

Sorry to hijack your thread. Does anyone have any experience of having fitted a switchable electronically actuated butterfly valve system to a Monaro with a Wortec sports exhaust system, as a retrofit?

I have been told its possible to do with a Wortec system but have no idea on complexity or cost. Anyone who has done this before, i'd appreciate knowing where you bought the valves from and approx. costs of purchase and fitting.

Good luck with sorting your issues too OP !

if you use electric motors they seem to often fail , if you can do cable operated then that’s probably the best if you can find one , there are vacuume kits you can buy , the flaps and vacuume parts are around 35£ each on ebay , the vacuume control is around 200$ , works on a corvette , getting it welded in the guy i used charged me 30£ to weld two flaps in as i have cut outs on each side

well i got there in the end , for any ones future reference , on the ve2 there is a little best described as air switch which is controlled by the ecu , it had two wires one is an earth to the chassis the other one a positive supply , so i simply but took me a while , i did a positive wire from the battery via a switch then took the same positive supply to both the units , flick the switch and it opens the air valves up , the only thing is remember to turn it off after driving or it’s providing a positive supply all the time

Hi I have fitted to my Monaro VXR a pair of Badlands cut outs from USA and Stainless Steel Y pipes to allow the cutouts to be fitted to exhaust.
The cutouts come with switch so you can open the butterflies to any setting for the amount of noise you want.

I fitted mine just after the sensors at a point where they will fit, you will see obviouse place when you look under the car. Make sure you buy the short down direction pipes to direct the hot gasses to the ground

All will become clear on the Badlands site. Also watch a couple of youtube vides on Badland cutouts.

Fitting these and you will grin all day and will only close them for MOT and when Police about.
