I've had that problem personally before.
Seriously though, has the belt lost all its retraction or just gone weak?
Mine went a bit weak, I improved it by cleaning the entire belt with house polish.

It went weak and I messed with it and then went back to normal. Then it happeed again and now I can plug it in the back seat lol
