My driver's seat mountings seem to be failing.
Anyone any idea where I could pick up the whole seat and mounting bits from a scrapper?
Or other ideas?
Simon.

In what way is it failing?

I've PM'd you.

This is my original driver seat base frame. Broken at the rear. I swapped it out.
NB the upholstery/sponge etc. comes off real easy, no drama.

Hi,thank you for the message.
I think mine must be much like yours, I can lift up the back and move it up and down and side to side at the back.
The seats you messaged me about are VXR,but maybe the frame is the same?
However,I'm in Cheshire, and they are in Surbiton!

You need to have a proper look, see what's going on.
If you take the seat out and find its something that can be repaired by welding, but you still need the car, you could swap the passenger seat base on to the drivers back frame. Then use the repaired frame for the passenger base. Like I've said, the bases aren't handed, its just the trims that are which swap over. Messing around with the seats is easy enough if your ok with spanners.
I plan to have my old broken frame repaired then I'll have a full spare set of VXR mk1 seats sat in the loft.
I actually thing my seat base was deliberately broken at some point in the past, I thought initially the spot welds had gone, but looks like the metal has been cut to give a lower seating position...bodge!

Don't turn on the ignition without the seats plugged in as it'll set the Airbag light.

There is free software to turn it back off, but it's an avoidable inconvenience thumbup
