you could probably get it tig welded theres plenty folk around that should be able to repair it as it may be a much cheaper option depending how bad the crack is I would put you on to a person at our works but he is very overloaded atm with foreigner work
I was told they won't even put tyres on "repaired" alloys now.Lee20k said:
If I was to go down the aftermarket route what do I need to take into consideration?
Is the below correct so far?
19" x 8J
5 x 120
ET 40
Are there any VX Alloys that would fit?
I'm sure someone put the similar looking wheels from an Astra VXR on, they had a silver 5.7 VXR as I recall, posisbly V8 TFT on here?Is the below correct so far?

They look really similar to the other VXR style (5 pairs of spokes) but with a slightly different face, will try to find a picture
EDIT:
Have checked an old picture, it's not V8 TFT I'm sure I've seen them on one though
This style I think?

Other Vauxhalls have a different PCD, I think 5x112 or 115.
The early Insignia use a 5x120, but they use an 8.5 wide rim, probably causing rear arch issues. You would also need to slightly machine the centre bore because they are smaller than the 69mm the Monaro uses.
The monaro is very tight when it comes to wheel fitment.
I think the BMW 3 series E46 have a closer fitment.

V8 Donk had them on the old Pendine Sands Top Gear car. I think those wheels disappeared when the car got shipped west. The car then had Cades wheels on when Medway Monaro had it. I thik Speed4U ended up with the car after the engine was removed. Not sure if it was on wheels though.EDIT:

Not sure what PCD Astra Js run. I know the old Astra used to be 108 or 110 x 5 so no good. I think the wheels on the Monaro above were Insignia ones? As has been said, BMW run 120x5 pcd. E46 (apart from M3) and X3 wheels usually have compatable offsets but you will have to get spigot rings made up to centre the wheels properly.
