About eight years ago I had trouble with my 05 cv8 cutting out on a couple of occasions. MF ran diagnostics and found throttle body fault but said don't worry unless it starts to happen alot. Sound advice as it stopped. But now I've hesitation under any acceleration and when I put clutch in or stop revs either rise and fall constantly or engine cuts out though so far has always started again. I'm assuming it's the throttle body or does anyone else think differently?
If it is,is it worth having it looked at....are there any servicable parts?
Should I get one of Brett if he has one or just bite the bullet and get a new one? And if so anyone know how much and where from?

check your air filter first it can get very clogged and throw a number of engine issues into the mix , my next thing would be clean maf and throttle body and see if it helps , i assume its up to date service wise plugs etc and ht leads are ok as they can break down in a short time

By "clean maff" it's the inside of the throttle body where the butterfly closes. A ridge of gum forms there and the butterfly blade jams on it.

Maf as in the induction pipe after the air filter , if there is gunk where the butterfly valve/flap is , that sounds like it could be a breather issue , it’s normal to be a bit black but gunk is more than that , it maybe worth cleaning your breather pipes out maybe ones a bit blocked , i know one breather normally joins to the throttle body but there are other breathers , are you na or fi , fi tends to generate more mucky crap in the breathers so possibly a catch can ?

Cheers for advice as usual chaps. My Ro is n/a always serviced at MF last one about 3000 miles ago last August. I'm not mechanically minded in the least but will get someone to check everything you've pointed out. Just been for a sixty mile run and the o'l gal was faultless! Seems to do it more in city driving. Will report back

Thanks for help and advice as usual. Especially James and Chris. I'm in Norwich so would be a bit of a schlep to either of you and I don't wanna risk driving to far just in case I break down!!
I've a friendly mechanic so will get him to clean aforementioned items and the throttle body and will see what happens after that.....fingers crossed. But will bare your kind offers in mind if none of this works

Cheers

Pete

If yours does require a new throttle body, I've just bought one for my Monaro from Rock Auto for half the price that they are in the U.K., even after shipping and import duty etc.
