Agreed, its a nice Ro. Wants to be exceptional at that price though.
My VXR has just cost me less than half that, granted its got 80k on the clock, but still £19k's a real lot of money.
Hope he gets it. Hoping to not loose much on mine in the future should I sell it.
You got yours for less than £9,500? That's a very cheap VXR! I'd be pretty confident you'd easily get more than that should it come time to sell itMy VXR has just cost me less than half that, granted its got 80k on the clock, but still £19k's a real lot of money.

Probably 4K overpriced. Nice car, but not standard so why even metion it? Still at least the prices are going in the right direction.
Disagree totally go and buy the same car for 15k then, as a Monaro owner for the last 11 years and having seen many during my visit to Monkfish and car shows, good examples are hard to come across the key now when buying these cars is attention to detail and history, plus choice mods, i have no attachment to the seller but for me the only thing that lets it down is the cut out for the radiator cap, description says concourse engine bay simply can't be.stu vxr said:

If I'm wrong on the price fair enough, but to get £20k for a Monaro they usually had to be supercharged and in mint condition. There must be some price overlap with the later VXR8's at that level as well which might prevent them going up any further.
Still if Monaros are still appreciating in value I'm more than happy.
Mine’s still only done 30k miles but mechanically it’s heavily modified. Visually it’s still a CV8 with a few tasteful mods (wheels, brakes and suspension) and paintwork is original and immaculate.
Guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t part for it unless somebody offered a lot of money and that’s the point. Tatty ones change hands and get rattier whilst good ones remain cherished.

Your's doesn't count, it must be one of the best in the country, it would be cheaper to buy Airforce One.Guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t part for it unless somebody offered a lot of money and that’s the point. Tatty ones change hands and get rattier whilst good ones remain cherished.

Exactly my point look at the engine bays that are for sale at the moment, just by that you can tell a cherished example, there will be no rust for example around the brake reservoir bracket ABS bracket etc evidence of rust around these area's in my opinion is a good indicator to the rest of the cars condition, black one looks as good as I have seen for a while so should bring strong money.Guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t part for it unless somebody offered a lot of money and that’s the point. My car is charged and has original paint etc and in my opinion is also tastefully modified I honestly can't put a price on it, a good one is very special and we shouldn't be guided by what's for sale at the moment it simply isn't a good indicator.

Oh my god Paul you have less than mine now as I have done 31k now I will have to stop using it, I nearly fell out with my VXR as I had a couple of issues this year and very nearly sold it to buy a Mustang GT but was talked out of it and so glad I was, i do think it is difficult to put a price on an immaculate monaro as they are rare and I know I would pay more for an immaculate example.Guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t part for it unless somebody offered a lot of money and that’s the point. You couldn’t sell yours Stewart, it’s part of island history and I always look to see if it’s there every time I drive to Douglas. It’s a landmark! Hope you’ve got your window fixed.
