My VY Ute rack is leaking atf into the gators and could probably do with a rebuild or replacing. Any idea of how much a replacement quick rack would cost and where to get one in the U.K?

Super! I would prefer a new/recon rack rather than second hand one so I think I'll give Pedders a call. I have dealt with Kiley Clinton before for a quick rack for my Chevette years ago and they are very helpful. Thanks..

I did the pedders on mine and for what it is it’s not that much either

Something I find a pain with the Monaro is the slow steering. Is the quick rack that’s available a big improvement over the original?

It's better for sure but not massive in my opinion not much difference unless major manoeuvring for example lock to lock, before anybody says Yes i have front end pack to, don't also expect it to be anywhere as good as electric power steering.

The pedders rack is not a quick rack it’s just the standard rack that was fitted to au cars , i think it’s a lot better i did mine ages ago and it means you can actually steer the car lol

I thought the VXR cars had a slightly different ratio than a CV8??

Hi i think the vxr one is different , possibly the same spec as the pedders rack , mine was a cv8 and the rack swap was a good mod and a lot less turns than normal , the cv8 racks were changed for the uk market for some reason , the pedders one is probably standard on the vxr but a cv8 gets the not very good one , mini roundabouts became much easier to turn on unlike the old rack which felt like steering a ship lol

I'll see what I can find and maybe try and find a quicker rack.

The pedders one is a good rack , car is a lot better and drives like a normal car , the racks are probably easily available through the effectively MF as that’s what MF was also running , plus you have a warranty
