I would expect that an impact that has damaged both rear wheels and the rear axel will have sadly written off your car. Basically it all depends on the market value of your vehicle vs the cost of parts and availability. Insurance companies will write anything off once the total repair cost reaches a certain percentage of the cars value, (60% I think) you will probably be offered bottom book value as a payout, just to rub salt into the wound.
With regard to your injuries, document all your expenses and treatment, times dates Hospitals etc. If possible obtain the names of any medical staff you get treatment from. You will need these details to make a claim, it will also speed the process up.
The dash cam evidence would be nice, but if someone has crashed into the rear of your vehicle, it's usually pretty straight forward.
I hope this helps.

As other people always seem better finding things on line than i am , can some one please post diagrams or something on those lines detailing the rear vxr8 suspension parts where it is what’s it’s called and part numbers if there is such a site or link , so i know what they are talking about on the car and i know if they do repair what they are doing , insurance company is heading on the write off route , but i would like to see it repaired if possible , as it’s a shame to kill it off , cheers in advance
This is for the Pontiac G8 which is close. I believe the sub frame is the same, the rest, not sure, from a little reading some might be different. So you should be ok for the main part if the sub-frame is unwell and one of the parts recyclers over there has a rear frame. The other parts shouldn't be too hard to find especially on the Bay of E. The HSV panels would be the main point of difficulty, I reckon.
2008-2013 Holden Commodore VE SS Ute parts should all be compatible with a VE HSV Maloo. Most of the suspension parts could go by post, a Sub-frame or panel would probably need a ship!

Then you need to be pushing for cash in lieu of a settlement for the vehicle, and under no circumstances let them take the vehicle away anywhere to be inspected or they might claim to be assessed....as more than likely you will never see it again as they will immediately write it off and retain it. Which IMO amounts to theft.Cheers for the diagram , i am thinking the reason for the wheels not sitting correctly in the arch are the lower and upper arms being bent ? hopefully diff and subframe ok , suspension looked ok but it’s not that difficult to source, body work is minor dents that could be pulled , the wheels can be solved via ebay as hsv sv pack 20 inch wheels are around 4k£ it seems , it’s already been taken to be assessed i’ve been on there case so they know where i stand with getting it repaired , ive asked when they assign an engineer to get him to call me due to club knowledge on where to get cheaper parts , there was not much option it had to go to their assessors , they say i will know next week , so fingers crossed

If they decide to write it off, you'll have a huge fight on your hands to get the car back then....as their theft is basically claiming ownership of it and you're out of the picture.bad move allowing them to take it, I've seen people get well and truly screwed over before by allowing that to happen.
And there is option, you tell their assessor to get off their lazy arse and come to where the car is.
But insurance companies take your car for a reason....it's easier for them to push you around and offer less etc...when you no longer have the car !
