Hi,

My diff is leaking from the back cover and from the shafts I think. It's a proper mess underneath!

Where should I start looking for new seals etc.

06 VXR with harrop cover, and re geared diff.

Thank you!

There is no gasket on the rear cover, you use a good sealant and torque correctly. You should be able to get hold of the carrier seals if not I might have a couple of spares. Its normally the input shaft seal that leaks, so clean and inspect the whole thing.

Nose seal seems OK as does the rear cover. Problem looks to be with the side carrier seals...But, the stub axles can get nasty wear grooves in them where the shaft face contacts the seal lip. You will have to get it up on the ramp and remove the drive shafts. The stub axles then just flick out with a suitable pry bar. They are retained by springclips so you you might initially need to give it some grunt but mind thye dont land on your toes!

Good Luck!

If they are grooved are they destined for the bin?

The car has done 130k so I'm guessing it's likely.

Thank you for your help by the way!
