Not having much luck recently, I noticed that I was losing coolant and thought it may be the rad cap but no such luck I found it today and it's on the plastic part of the radiator where the oil cooler bracket is attached. The car is a monaro 6.0 vxr where is the best place to get a new radiator. Thanks.

A common problem, most seem to go for an alloy replacement. Mishimoto radiators ( I think that's the correct spelling ) seem to have a good reputation. I would just use google and see who is the cheapest supplier. I believe they require a bit of trimming to fit, but they are an upgrade from standard item.

Yes I found them and thought that may be the way forward but thought I would ask, I will get one ordered now. Is it a DIY fit or best left to a garage. Thanks for your help.

Mishimoto has a video on how to install the rad on a GTO (Monaro), worth watching that as it doesn't seem to bad to fit

I had mine fitted by Topcats Racing, and Warren was amazed by the quality at the price. It looks the balls too!
I am having to replace my water pump now as I have a leak from it; a few of the GTO owners have had the pump go after the rad goes.

60k miles and still on the original radiator.

Was going to upgrade to the Mishimoto last month when it was in for MOT prep but it needed new tyres as well as front discs and pads so the radiator will have to wait.

I replaced my rad with a direct fit original type made by denso which are top quality. I ordered it for Pontiac GTO & it fits perfectly. I got it from a motor factors that advertise on eBay & are based in Usa. Think total price inc shipping was approx £120 ! Mine is a 2004 monaro cv8 & the GM no is 92147801. Denso no 2219187

I'm still on my original radiator too, I was going to change it this year, but I'm booked in for a Wavetrac. It would be bloody typical if it goes when that been done!!!!

The 92147801 you quote is shown as being £285.64 from GPS. Being a genuine part and UK sourced there would be no warranty issues either. I sourced my VXR8 one from them. They quoted me the same quantity in stock as Vauxhall did so I presume that it actually came from the warehouse at Newport Pagnell. Proper HSV item, new, boxed and labelled. Brilliant service, couriered to me free of charge and over £300 cheaper than a certain well known company that I shall not mention. They'd be worth checking out if anyone needs one in the future...

I love the look of the Mishimoto rads......another job waiting for me to sort out as a pre-emptive measure.
