On the way back from the very nice south east meet , i noticed that on harder acceleration i had a slight screech which has been there for a while as in years , the ac belt has then come off today , i know it is a known fault on these cars , is it a slippery slope once it comes off once or can it just be the belt has stretched a bit ? or is it new tensioner or tensioner mod time , the other question the belt that came off length shows 1101 mm , but some on line show as 1090 mm with the same gm part number i assume either will fit and would the shorter belt not work better as it will be tighter , cheers in advance for any replies

4PK1100 is coming up on the Dayco website for V2 Series III and VZ Monaro. Should be able to pick that up somewhere locally.
Seeing Dayco, Contitech, Gates, Blueprint, Bosch as makers of that belt.
6PK1995 is the other belt.

I just bought a Gates 4PK1100 to fit next weekend and ordered what I thought was the correct accessory belt in a 6PK1965 for my Ro VXR.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

It arrived in two days.

The belt fitted to mine is gm92068295 4pk1101 which is a ls3 ve ac belt , the part number comes up with different lengths from memory 1090 to 1100 mm , i was wonder if belt was failing and jumped or if the tensioner / pulley was failing causing belt to jump , i hope if i can put a 1090 on it would be tighter and less likely to jump ? , or if the tensioner is failing and it’s the start of issues ?

If you mean me Ade, I certainly will. It's all part of a bigger water pump replacement but they are coming off in any case - only the AC belt looks old.

I bought an AC Delco water pump and 'stat from Rock Auto, which should be with me this week. It couldn't be easier!
