Can't remember the name of the wortec package but it was like a stage one with remap new airfilter and exhaust mod. Raised my CV8 to a supposed 390bhp.
Does anyone know the name of the wortec package (may be sports pac) and what air filter I will need?
PS Does anyone also know how to alter email address with piston head accounts?

I think ? The first of these mods was just a basic remap, (25hp) the next one up was a Sport pack, which was a remap, cold air mod and a cat back exhaust,( 390hp? ) Lastly, a Focus pack, this consisted of a remap, cold air kit, cat back and headers which gave Monaro's around (425hp)
The cold air mod consisted of a K&N panel filter, together with a hole drilled into the bottom of the factory air box. I fitted a VCM cold air kit to my Monaro, this replaced the entire factory air box. It was a 4" K&N cone filter, heat shield, and a few bits to join everything up to the air intake pipe. Some 04 cars had their restrictive intake pipe replaced, and possibly a mod to the maf sensor. The air filter part number for the 4" cone K&N filter is RE-0870. I never bothered with the flat panel filter.
Please feel free to correct me on the above information....my memory is not what it was!!!!!!

Thanks John, the Sports Pac sounds very familiar, and my car was built June 2004 although registered March 2006.

K&N 33-2116 is the K&N panel that fits in the stock airbox.

I think the panel filter M/F used was a K&N, I don't know the part Number, but if you get stuck it might be the same as an Omega 3ltr V6? It's worth checking out just in case.

I don't know which exact filter Wortec used, but if they were using the original airbox and giving it the 2 hole modification then these filters will fit.
ie they fit inside the original airbox. You could put one in the airbox now if you wanted to.
The 2 hole mod is not too difficult to do yourself, a hole saw is a about the only thing needed to make it look neat and maybe a small section of PVC or plastic pipe from the DIY store. When I did it, I would make the 2nd hole the same size as the original and use another Monaro pipe and put that in there.
Be careful moving the shroud on the front of the airbox, make sure it doesn't pinch the white ABS connector on the chassis rail when you put it back.

The uk k and n site list the filters , the flow will be minimal difference compared to a standard filter the benefit will be you can wash it which saves chasing a part on a service , the air box holes will probably help a bit and give it a deeper engine note
