Thought I’d say hello. Been away from the forum for about 18 months, I recognise some of the names but there’s a lot of new names (to me anyway) on here now. If you recognise me then hello again, if not, hello I’m sure I’ll get to know everyone on here again and I hope to get to meet some of you over the summer meets.
I’ve never bothered with FB because people just talk boks and get obsessed with it, my ex couldn’t seem to go 10 minutes without logging onto it.
Anyway.....back to topic. What’s been going on for the last 18 months, other than Monkfish closing! any decent high power cars been built, is Arnie still trying to build a 1000bhp Monaro or is he only racing his (John Sleaths)Audi now?

Very simple really if I need to verify or read anything interesting I hang out here, it's not that the forum has died our cars are cheap to buy now, so now we have a big following on FB.
I am on FB and belong to the forum, nothing to learn mainly just the usual loud revving videos that are posted, each to their own I will give it five years at best then it will be gone.
Would be rude of course to try and start a debate from a true enthusiast, love my Monaro 11 years and counting.

As long as I can find out about any local, Maidstone or Rochester, meets like 007’s used to be posted on here then that’s no problem. As for interesting topics and problem solving I’d guessed FB would be pointless, as I said I’d always avoided joining FB because of the sht people talk on there. If I want to see loud exhausts or racing I always go to YouTube anyway!

Wholeheartedly agree......FB has tried to kill the forums but I think this one will see off the threat. I personally hope that the #deletefacebook thing happens to completion.I am a bit of a reader on here so should post more. I am into year 10 of ro ownership and also still loving it.

I'll see your 10 years and raise you 2 years I am a bit of a reader on here so should post more. I am into year 10 of ro ownership and also still loving it.
I do not have a face-ache account. I have seen people close to me seriously hurt on an emotional level because of that platform.
I've not been on here much recently, not because I've been involved in the FB side of things, just been going through some depression and one of the things to fall apart was my interest / energy for the car (part of why the V8UK events stopped as well, although I wasn't the only one who organised them by any means)
Poor Bruce has sat on the drive for a little over 2 years now, MOT expired October 2015, I didn't realise this and took him out to the Rockingham Christmas Cruise for some fun (video below, me at 2:25. As you can see, style points were far more important!)

Anyway, on and off over the last 6 months or so I've stumped up the motivation to order some bits, so I've got a new battery on a trickle charger, plenty of Royal Purple and a new filter, and a set of cat pipes to swap on to make sure I pass the emissions test
I've booked the MOT for 28th April where they'll also be fitting 4 new tyres (trying the PS4S as it's the PSS replacement). For some reason my rears are a bit low
Main concern is I suspect the brake discs will be pretty corroded, hopefully it's mostly surface rust but that's probably optimistic... I shall be dragging the brakes with my left foot most of the way to the MOT centre in the hope they clean up a bit and pass!
I am feeling a little bit excited to hear Bruce again which is nice, I think it'll be an important milestone to get him back on the road.
In the meantime the cats have been keeping an eye on him
Hello SturdyHSV,
It's good to see another owner fired up and getting their car back on the road. Two years parked up is a long time. My car has been off the road for only seven months, and it feels a lot longer than that I can tell you!
Anyway, I hope you are feeling better, and let's all look forward to some sunny weather and enjoy our V8's.

Hello Sturdy,
you’re another of the names I remember, good to see you interested in your car again. Im sure it was you who helped me in the past with resistor strengths for the airbag light when swapping steering wheels over.
2.2ohms or something isn’t it? I’m swapping my factory steering wheel over for another one I’ve bought soon so I could do with the resistor strength again if it was you and you still remember it after losing interest in your car for a while. If not then no worries mate
