Hi guys, I thought you might be interested in what a mate of mine has done. Being a long term resident of the UK he hasn't quite lost his Kiwi routes and went and bought one of these!!

http://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Details/83057/200...

They had a single make arrive and drive series for them out in Bahrain where they all got thrashed around the desert sun. Since then they were shipped over to the UK and have spent 10 years in a big yard getting dirty and unloved.

My mate bought the car back end of December and John has since been bringing it back up to scratch and making sure it is safe to go racing again. I have done a few videos for John talking about the car and what he is up to: http://www.facebook.com/710150125682692/videos/185... and http://www.facebook.com/710150125682692/videos/186...

We were at Snetterton last week and the car performed well so he is getting ready to go racing this comming weekend, also at Snetterton. I am out in the delta as well (www.lanciadeltaracing.com)

You can see the car on the track breifly in my video here: http://youtu.be/1texQAzwEDc?t=2m1s

That engine has very low compression for NA. It might be tuned for 95 but it will run on less. Its only 9.x:1 IIRC. Though perhaps it has small chamber heads on it to bring the compression up?

"Engine is forced induction friendly".
Surely you wouldn't have one of these unless you were going to bolt on many. many boosty psi?

Sounds like a cool machine.

Engine is probably because of a fixed race series ? So must be factory so to speak ?

I'm sure it has plenty of power to have fun in, and the fact it will run forever on 95....what's to complain about ? Even better than if not restricted by rules you could take it further.

Must have come from James at http://www.ukv8s.co.uk/ (Ah, see by your link they did come from James) He imported several of them from Bahrain and still has a couple for sale/rental I believe. He also has some VXR8 spares such as diffs. There's a list on the website of available parts. Helped me out when I needed an alternator, very nice fellow. The race car sounded rather nice when started up for me.
(Spoiler on yellow car below was damaged during transit to/from Autosports show).

Isn't the engine that Wormus has spoken about that can take a lot of boost?
