So it's the last year of the V8 Supercars, I need to see them before they're gone. Bathurst is a bucket list place, seems like the year to go.

So...

How do I get there? What flights etc, are there good packages in existence or what...?

Help me, this is a bucket list thing so it has to happen, let's go!

You will fly into Sydney and want to hire a car or camper. I suggest finding a BNB very early as most within an hour drive will be taken or seriously expensive, unless you want to rough it in a tent.

Great experience! Did the 50th anniversary and again a year later.

A different way, maybe fly internationally into Canberra! Although obviously more choice into Sydney, but if they are all booked (unlikely), a couple of airlines fly into Canberra. Hire a car (V8) and drive up, stay in one of towns nearby.
The 2 airlines are Singapore and Qatar.

Best way?

I went in 2004 and hired an 6 seater plane and pilot. We flew from Sydney to Bathurst airport and had a taxi waiting for us.

Enjoyed watching the cars snaking their way back to Sydney after the race from the air.

Well you did say best way didn’t you!

Oh and don’t put your hand on the poles in between the fencing at the top of the mountain. The nasty spiders hide in there too.....
