Mishimoto radiator quality ?
Discussion
Hope some of you guys can put my mind at rest. I spoke to the owner of a company that makes one off rads for motorsport etc today & he was saying something about due to the high numbers of rads Mishimoto produce it can pull the Furness temperature down too much at times which can cause problems when the rads get about 18months old they can start to leak ? Has anybody had this ? The guy has a 3- 6 weeks waiting list so I was gonna get a Mishimoto rad instead of waiting but now I’m not sure what to do Thanks shaun
Had a Mishimoto rad in my Monaro for the last two years with no issues. They look very well made and a lot better than the OE part with plastic ends that eventually leak. The Mishi rad is slightly larger in capacity, the car takes a little longer to reach operating temperature from cold compared to the OE rad. Are there really a lot of Mishi rads that have started to leak?

We sold a lot of these, and dont recall ever having a failure. When my plastic radiator took a dump, I installed one of these Mishi-somethings. In spite of its Chinese origin {I resent China], it works just fine.
Gone are the days when you could go to an actual auto radiator shop, and for little money, have a copper/brass radiator custom-fabricated. Did that for my TR-7 and my Dad's Chrysler with a huge 440 engine.
