Mishimoto radiator ?
Discussion
Been looking at this rad online which says includes a trans cooler thinking I can use the trans cooler as my pas cooler then I can throw away the rusty looking pas cooler & pipes & run new hoses to it ? Anyone else done this as I’m sure a few have the Mishimoto radiator?? Thanks shaun
Hi,
I had the same idea when I fitted that radiator, but wondered what temp was oky for the PAS fluid and it seems that 40deg above ambitent is commonly quoted also 150 to 170 range for max. If this is so and given the very good heat transfer of aluminium, its possible that the transfered heat from the coolent entering the rad would act as a heater for the PAS fluid not a cooler.
Im not sure if this is the case, but thinking that most PAS cooleres are both small implying not much heat to loose and always located in front of the rad implying max cold airflow is required, I decided not to use this excellent opportunity and kept the existing PAS cooler.
Please respond if anyone has other thoughts as its a very good idea
regards Paul
