I’m planning to renew the corroded low pressure pipe that runs near the crank pulley on my o4 cv8 as someone has spliced it in the past. I’m thinking of running a new hose from the reservoir all the way round to the rack to eliminate all the metal pipes. Anyone think a cooler is necessary as I recently renewed pipes on a modern ford & the genuine Ford new pipes now bypass the cooler as a modification ! Thanks shaun

G.M. only spends money if absolutely necessary. Do not eliminate the power steering cooler.

That’s a good point thanks. My main radiator is past its best so had an idea of buying the Mishimoto rad which says inc a trans cooler, then I could use the trans cooler as a steering cooler ? Shaun

I have been chasing a steering leak for weeks. Do you know how hot the steering fluid gets? I bet that a decent aftermarket cooler strapped in front of the A.C. condenser will outperform the joke of a cooler from the factory.
Do not use the tranny cooler in the radiator. Too hot.
