Chance encounter with a 200k 5.7 Vxr.
Discussion
Last night, Sainsbury's petrol station, Haverhill.
Man called Graham pulled in with a red 5.7 VXR. Owned since 6 months old, bone stock, daily driven all year and now over 200k! Still looking entirely presentable.
Informs me it's been pretty much 100% reliable, just exhaust hangers, brake lines and the usual consumables.
Not on here, and so out of the loop. He didn't know Monkfish had ceased trading! Which furrowed his brow a bit, as it was the only place he went!

It's great to hear about cars with this sort of mileage, I remember a blue CV8 with over 250K on the clock, that was posted on hear. It was a great story to follow.
I often wonder how many miles these cars will cover before they wear out?
I have to confess I did pop into a Ford dealer last week and I had a quick look at a grabber blue 5 ltr Mustang. Yes really!
However, when I got home and thought about it, I would have to be worse than insane to get rid of a rust free Monaro with 64k on the clock, especially when you take into account the financial hit I would take just to drive around in a car that is probably not much better.
My dad used to say, just be greatfull for what you've got!.......I guess he was right.

99t is the PHer with that Monaro. There was an update a few weeks ago in another thread on that car Lovely story OP about the VXR - must have been fun covering that mileage in a 'ro, and owning it all this time.
