Hi, just looking for a quick answer.

I have standard brakes all round on my 6.0VXR and I need to replace my rear pads. I am happy to replace them with standard pads again or a suitable equivalent. The car rarely gets driven hard (or at all just lately) so i wont need trackday/race spec etc.

Can anyone throw in a quick cost effective recommendation avoiding anything cheap and nasty?

Thanks in advance.

That’s awesome.

I’ll need new front discs and pads when I put the car back on the road in spring and was worried where I was going to get them.
I know the Monkfish guys said they were doing brake parts via Pedders but I couldn’t see any last time I checked the site.

I’ve dropped them an email to see when they will have stock.

Heard they work well but produce a lot of dust?

I haven't noticed any noticeable improvements in braking performance using performance friction pads on my 04 CV8 (running the standard milk bottle top sized discs), though they like to squeal at town speeds more than stock.

Think I'll go back to the standard compound pads for quieter running next time, and accept that without a big brake upgrade I'll just have to brake earlier smile

No excessive dust or noise with my Performance Friction front and rear ('05 CV8). Eliminated the "wobbly knee" brake pedal feel after toasting the brakes around Knockhill. (Resin transfer to the discs from factory pads)
I believe the VXR rears are the same as '05 CV8.
I phoned Performance Friction UK office in Banbury. A very nice lady took my order over the phone and I received delivery promptly.

In my humble opinion, I would never use a standard brake pad on a Monaro again. Just go and get the performance friction pads and eliminate any possible future brake judder. If I remember correctly when I fitted my performance friction pads they did squeal at first, however after a few weeks of use they we're noise free.
