Awesome effort and gives character to an otherwise dull car but 3.9 rover V8..........shouldn’t be too much slower than the 2.0 16v.
I was into rover v8’s for a while then got a ride in an IROC camaro. Then sold up and got a transam.

Blimey.....all that time, skill, effort, and money to create a car which is like a small Monaro!
One for the serious Calibra enthusiast that's for sure.....it must have been in reality a labour of love to build and that has to be respected.
If I bought that car ( assuming it is affordable) I would always think....I wish that I had the real deal, and bought a Monaro.
That's not to say anything negative about the Calibra, they are a good car, and they also have plenty of passionate fans.
Still it's horses for courses in the car world.

That's brilliant. I'd love to know how fast one of these would go at TR with about 500+ hp worth of cammed LS3. 180+, I'd wager. The Cd, cleaned up, is about 0.26 and the frontal area tiny.

You'd be entering the realms of unknown with high speed stability though.

Maybe fit a Mad Max roof spoiler....that would sort it out

Reminds me kinda of the day I was going over the Kingston bridge in Glasgow and pulled up behind a white Calibra badged as a VXR Monaro :0
The guy driving slid down deep in his seat as I slowly pulled alongside and then dropped well back into traffic.

Tragic! Some years back there was a guy in Norwich who had Aston Martin badges on his Jag XK8.....WHY!!! Part of me wonders if the calibra guy was having a laugh but the XK8 dude was definately trying to look DB7...ish
