Monkfish were super local to me. But sadly it seems they are shutting. Can anyone recommend anywhere that offers similar mod/tuning work on LS motors?

Eg fitting headers, intake manifold, cam and being able to remap the ECU for the changes?

Thanks.

If you have FB join the LS tuning group, the main man for these amongst the community is Luis Sola from Oz who can and has tuned many cars in the UK via EFI live and a laptop whilst still in Oz.

Luis did a minor remap on mine to fix an idling when cold issue (cammed) all whilst sat on the drive through my laptop. Walkinshaw tune as stated and MWP in Chester are also very good. If not on the FB groups you should be as there is a wealth of knowledge and parts available through various contributers

A lot of Corvette guys are using Topcats racing, they mostly do TVRs and
anything LS related, i.e. swapping any LS into a TVR, turnkey.

This is the email from the boss Warren , big shame the Fish are no longer around , but i will go there for my next service ,

Thanks for the email,we did here about Monkfish and would love to help with your cars,we are based at westcott venture park, have 24 hrs security and a cafe on site, our building is 9000 square feet and all cars are kept inside,we have a club suite and meeting room should clients wish to stay while works are completed.
We are happy for clients to look round as we have some interesting cars to look at
Of course it's the work your interested in we build all our own LS engines in hse and race them, have a small engineering room and weld / fabricate in hse
Labour rate is 65 + vat
We have 3 stations locally and are happy to drop and pick up from these
If you were interested and could get 10-15 cars together we would be happy to have a Saturday ramp morning where you could come and check the facility and meet us
We would supply coffee, breakfast and do inspections of the cars on our ramps with a couple of engineers, clients are welcome to have a good look under there own cars
We will send a report by email the following week
Of course this is a no charge event so very informal

I would be up for that too , on there site they transplant ls3 and ls7 engines so they must know what they are doing , in the greatest respect to them they are not the Fish but from where i am from location wise , it seems like the only sensibly close place to go

i would be very much up for this.

Good to hear of them, as I had not known about them.

Being Bicester way they are the closest option for me, with Walkinshaw not far either.

Keep me posted on dates possible and I will def come down in the Ro for what promises to be a great and useful morning.

Sounds positive. I've seen them pop up in various threads (following posts on the new TVR since it has a Mustang lump in it) they come across well respected.

Oxford isn't too bad; I could do with some options on mine. She feels like she could do with a spruce up in the suspension/steering area (back to back with a Mustang is no help!)

I’d be up for a visit too. Westcott is only 20 mins from me pretty much.

I'm seriously thinking about a suspension upgrade, but getting the car up on the ramps and having a load of like minded enthusiasts poke around under there first will put my mind at rest - that the money doesn't need spending elsewhere first!!

Personally, I can't guarantee that I'd be available for 21 Oct, but I'd try my damndest.

Edited: the Farewell to Holden at Luton is the day before, which could be an issue.

I’m interested in how this goes with TopCats as it’s closer to me than Walkinshaws. Not as close as Monkfish were though cry

I was also looking at DW Performance in Wellingborough. Never been there but they seem to have a loyal following. Not LS engine experts though.

TopCats looks a pretty slick operation. Nice clean workshop setup and what seem like knowledge guys.
They certainly seem to know their LS engines, but I guess time will tell if they can get specific monaro/vxr8 stuff.

I think for me living in Hemel I'd use them if needed or Walkenshaw if they can't get stuff.
