What do I need to know?
Discussion
Good afternoon,
This weekend I'll be getting some long overdue work sorted out on my Monaro.
Can anyone help me with any potential "gotchas" I need to be aware of, any special tools I may need that I don't already have and also links to any procedures I can follow pertaining to the likes of bleeding the clutch slave using a bleed line etc.
So the workload is as follows:
- Install new Spigot Bearing.
- Install new rear main seal.
- Install new clutch slave cylinder.
- Install new remote bleed line.
- Inspect prop shaft center bearing.
- Service gearbox (Royal Purple Syncromax).
- Install new LS7 clutch and flywheel.
I already have a few specialist tools for example a clutch alignment tool and a spigot bearing remover. I just need to know if there is anything else I may need to consider.
- What is the size of the gearbox drain plug socket?
- How do I refill my clutch/bleed it with the new bleed line etc?
Any input is appreciated, just to make my day go a bit smoother tomorrow.

I think gearbox drain plug was a half inch drive , what ever it was i don’t have any specialist tools but some thing fitted it , clutch from memory open the nipple at the end and pump then close keep going till it’s air free same as brakes , take box off bell housing first then take bell housing off this is due to a lack of clearance
