Hi guys,

I tried to get the battery changed on my key fob for my CV8, but it seems permenantly in situ unless you break it out. Can it be changed? If so, how? Or is a new key needed? If so, where can I get one?

Hi

If its like mine for the Monaro VXR 2005 the battery is soldered into the curcuit and you must desolder and fit a new battery complete with solder lugs fitted. These can be obtained off e bay.

There are 1 or 2 guides on YouTube. I've just bought the covers off an app I use called Aliexpress. So if i damage the cover I will have spares...with new buttons.

Try This it worked on my Monaro VXR...



Monaro VXR Free ‘Dead’ Key Fix by Wyld Stallyn

First Get BOTH Keys

Open Doors By Remote with Good Key

Put Good Key in Ignition and Turn so the Dash Displays are On (Vx or HSV Appears)

Wait For 15 Seconds

Switch Off & Remove Good Key

Put Dead Key in and Turn so the Dash Displays are On (Vx or HSV Appears)

Wait For 15 Seconds or so and Then Start The Engine (Grin biggrin and Enjoy the Burble cool).

Leave The Engine to Warm Up for 5 Mins

Switch Off Engine

Get Out TAKING BOTH KEYS WITH YOU

Lock The Car with the Now NOT DEAD Key


And Please DO Take BOTH Keys with you to start with just in case the Mythical Recharging Ignition Key Theory is Correct whistle wink
