I need a rear spring for my 2009 vxr8, monkfish only have front ones on their website and I know they are winding down.

Vauxhall can get a spring for £133 then will need to send it on to me in Oban.

I see there is a set of Pedders springs for a Vxr8 for £175 on ebay.

It states that they lower the car by 30mm.

I don't really know much about aftermarket springs, would it be worth buying the set, or do I need to make other suspension changes?

Or just bite the bullet and order from Vauxhall?

Thanks,

THUNDER STORM

All I can say is never just change one spring per axle, and if the Pedders on Ebay are correct ones for your car, then measure from top of tyre to see if there would be any fouling of tyre on body work.

You can always put packing rings under the springs if too low. I had 10mm packing rings fitted by Monkfish to my rear springs on my Monaro to raise it.

Hope this helps.

I would call the fish and see what they have that's not listed , i know they have a lot of used parts , option 2 is order the full set of peddlers , they are pretty quick on delivery , it's just over one inch lower , i agree with above do both rear springs one goes a risk of other failing

Oban ? Fancy coming along to the National meet this weekend, begins and ends in Stirling. I'm coming down from Aberdeen and will head back north from Fort Willie. Details at the top of the forum page.

Unfortunately I don't think I will have the springs delivered or fitted by then. I am working Saturday as well.

Is the convoy coming near Oban?

I could pop out in my Pathfinder for a look.

Thanks for the invite!

Stopping at the Green Welly mid morning, then through Glencoe to Fort Willie for lunch. there was mention of " Coming back A82 onto A828 (can go to oban or turn off onto the A85 " so you might catch a glimpse at the junction if they turn left ?
