I've got a Mishimoto radiator for a 2004 Monaro with multiple gashes in the rear side...is this of any worldly use to anyone? It seems a shame to weigh it in, but it's about £160 to get someone to repair it and something like £300 to recore, so unless anyone has mad DIY skills...

Roger, if you're reading this then it wasn't the Mishimoto's fault...something got between the radiator and the fan smash

Any photos ? How bad is the damage ?

Is it the actual core, or end tanks ?

It's the core. I've only got an action pic for now... hehe

I think there are a few other spots that would need repairing, but needs checking more closely if remotely viable. Likely to be any use? A new one is about £320 FWIW.

There's no welding up a leak like that. You could break open those particular tubes, and epoxy the crap out of them and it would probably work well for a very long time though

Or other option is cutting off the end tanks and welding in a new core. As to how cost effective that would be paying someone vs a new radiator....probably not a lot.

Obviously there has been physical damage to the core there....but could you try out their lifetime warranty ? Although it isnt really their fault so it would be a little sneaky.

Exactly, not an economical repair - wondered if someone might do something clever with the end tanks though. I had a new rad ordered the same day and fitted it the next, so I'm back up and running already.
