Yet more VXR8 suspension questions
Discussion
My LS3 is going to Walkinshaw for a host of work and a health check at the start of August, one of the issues being knocking/creaking from the front end, so I'm pre-empting them saying it needs new shocks. If this is the case, I'll probably just get a fully suspension setup installed whilst it's there.
With that in mind, what options have I got if I want it slightly lower (not stupid, I still want to use the car as normal), with better handling, but as close to standard comfort as possible. I don't want it rock hard, and I also don't want it on the floor. In addition, with it being at Walkinshaw, what's the chances of them being happy to fit a product supplied by someone else, for example, the Pedders kit from MF? As I'm assuming if the shocks are buggered they'll simply recommend one of their setups, and I'm happy to go with that, if its the better product for my needs.
Thanks in advance.

Walkies were more than happy to fit the standard Pedders kit to my VXR8 - Tim the mechanic even collected it on his way home as he lives near Monkfish
It has made a big difference over the standard VXR8 gear, driving feels totally planted, much more responsive and the car sits low but still gets around without scraping on too much stuff, barely anything in fact.
I had lots of creaks and knocks, and the majority of them were also resolved by having new top mounts fitted.

It might be a case that it doesn't need new shocks, this is more a 'just incase' question, but assuming its on the originals they've done 80k now, and are looking rather rusty.
I've noticed the Pedders coilovers are only £90 more than the non adjustable shocks/springs setup, so sense would say to go for those I guess.

Given the labour element is the same to do just springs or springs and shocks, and the fact the OE shocks wil be worn and were never thest anyway, is say do the shocks.I've noticed the Pedders coilovers are only £90 more than the non adjustable shocks/springs setup, so sense would say to go for those I guess.
Yes, the coilover is only a bit more, but it will be a firmer ride.
