Hi Guys,

I've noticed this guy selling Holden Racing Jackets on the UK Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=52755&item=6756115685&rd=1

I've contacted him regarding how many he can get, what designes are available, and for what cost.

Here's his reply:

"I only have 2 for sale, i can however buy in as many as you need in what sizes you require there are 3 models available red/black black/red both bomber style, and the other a red/black winter 3/4 length model, let me know what you require so i can work out a decent price for you."

If anyone is interested in one, let me know and I'll see what I can do. The guy is close to my folks so I could get them to collect to save on postage. It would also be an excuse to go up and see them. I could then either post them on or distribute at the next meeting.

Finally, what is a good price for these jackets. I've looked on Ebay.com.au and see that they go for around $40-$50. What would people be prepared to pay so I get an idea when bartering?

Slight confusion this morning when this guy was no longer a registered user. After contacting him it appears that his account had been hijacked because he was an excellent seller with good history.

He runs an online shop www.factory3.co.uk to sell his clothing, etc. I'll take this route from now on.

Can I ask those who replied to tell me what colour & size they would like.

Sizes are as follows
o XS1 for 3yr olds
o XS2 for 4-5yr olds
o XS3 for 6-10yr olds
o S for 28"-32" chest
o M for 33"-36" chest
o L for 37"-42" chest
o XL for 43"-48" chest
o XXL for 49"-54" chest

I've contacted both users and am currently awaiting a reply.

Good news. The guy selling the Pit Crew T-Shirts is willing to give discounts for bulk buys. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll see what I can do.

Be carful Guy's,

First they are NOT New & NOT genuine. I brought some about a year ago for around £8 on e-bay.

The seller also disappeared from e-bay after I brought it. I did finally get the goods but it took almost 2mths.

They have Jansport on right sleeve, not a sponsor of HRT & the Holden Lion looks like a British Lion on drugs.

I have seen one of the shirts with the word Biante spelt wrong on it.

Think the shirts were made for the V8 Supercar round in Hong Kong last year that never happened, so now they have all these shirts to get shot of.

I also got the HRT Race Team Jacket for around £18, Bad stiching with HOLDEN lettering coming apart on the front. You saw my jacket on Mon at Walkabout Trev & made a comment.

They do look ok & are cheep but, (you get what you pay for) we hope anyway.

Regards,
Rob.

Woah - thanks Rob

comm_ss_v8 - please don't order anything for me!

I've done a little digging ...

The website www.factory3.co.uk:

$whois factory3.co.uk
Registrant:
Master Brad Quinn
Registrant's Address:
21 Danum Road
Old Brumby
Scunthorpe
Humberside
DN17 1DA
GB

Also loads from www.factorythree.co.uk

The website looks rather amateurish - and use of english is not what I'd expect from a site claiming to have thousands of customers.

If you go to their checkout then their SSL certificate is not signed by a recognised authority. .

The organisation in the certificate is 'Tradeworld International'. A google reveals a company with such a name - a clothing manufacturer/wholesaler in Birmingham .....

I would probably say that they are perhaps cheap copies. I wonder what the legalities are of that one. Mind you, would have to be pretty keen, considering there aren't too many people who know what a Holden is here in the UK. I am supprised that the likes of ferrari haven't been knocking at his door, and requesting that the stuff with their name on it is destroyed.

I imported a couple of subaru rally style bomber jackets and despite the strong possibility of them being copies they were excellent value for money (circa 30 quid each), so perhaps it would be worth reserving judgement until we can see one of these in the flesh.

Thanks Rob. Your a life saver.

If people want me to see if I can get a sample jacket and/or T-Shirt I'll see what I can do. The guy selling the Jackets is in Scunthorpe. Any problems and I'll send the boys round

Does anyone know of any place in Australia that we could try to get the genuine article from? It might be better and save any dissapointment.

Try www.hrt.com.au, the LIONS DEN but you will pay a LOT more for the genuine article.

Jacket $250 about £110
Shirt $89 about £38

Have a clearance on last yrs HRT & HSV stock (newer than the e-bay ones)

HRT Jacket $125 about £54
Team Shirt $49 about £21 good buys.

They have a clearance on Team Brock

Jacket $50 about £20
Shirt $20 about £8

looks good,
Rob.

I live about 5km from the Lions Den factory outlet where I don't believe there is any of this years gear, but there is a lot of last years and also Brock stuff. I picked up a HRT Black fleece for $40 (SPZ-369914) the other day....mmmmm looks like 2004 gear! cool!
Up where I get other parts from, they have got a display of a lot of the cars, never seen a model VX SS police car.
I did pick up some stuff last year that somehow found its way over there!!!!
I did have a fellows email address that worked there who offered to send stuff over as he had relatives in the UK. I can ask around if you like.
