Some of the earlier coils that are different, do use the same wiring connector ok, most later ones use a smaller connector.
And as some mention, the actual coils themselves can have slightly different bolt spacings.
Really if you're looking to buy replacement coils, buy complete coils/brackets/wiring, that way there will be no fitting issues.
You can sometimes find new takeoffs on egay etc

If you've got an LS1 (cable throttle body most obvious way to identify) then the coils won't fit as the wiring is different (to the best of my knowledge)
The large white plug in the middle of the coil pack assembly is the same for pretty much all cars. But later type coils do use a smaller 4 pin connector compared to earlier LS1 type coils. All wiring is the same, just the coil connector is different.
Hence why the safest and easiest thing if you are not sure, is to buy complete.
