VXR8 Help - Removal of the kick panel under dash
Discussion
ringram fitted an additional clutch return spring to his (my) VXR8. I really need to remove it. The pedal was already a bit of a push, but since I've just lost the use of part of my left leg (prolapse disc L5-S1 - one sh*t birthday present) it's become unmanageable.
I need to remove the kick panel under the dash to get to the extra spring. Any ideas how this thing comes out?
Sad to say, having only driven the car home I may have to chop it in for an auto. FML

If by the kick panel, you mean the second fascia panel above your feet when you're driving, first remove the lower dash panel by your knees (see motomk's post above).
Next, unscrew the OBD (diagnostics) port near the accelerator pedal (2x Philips screws, although I think you only need to undo the leftmost one) and then give the panel a sharp tug towards the drivers seat to unlatch it (same clips as the lower dash panel). Keep sliding it back towards the drivers seat until it's free.
Even though it's fairly robust, be careful not to damage the OBD port, if you severely damage it you could cripple / immobilise the vehicle (the top leftmost pin 1 if shorted will prevent the car starting with a "Contact Dealer" message on the dash).
If you just crack the wings then you can get replacement sockets on Amazon.
Hope this helps
