Anyone running Pilot Sport 4 tyres
Discussion
Our supercharged CV8 runs on Pilot Super Sports and very good they are too. In the 18s she runs on Michelin have brought out Pilot Sport 4 which are supposed to be an excellent tyre, probably better than the SS in many ways, but from speaking to Michelin I believe they are intended for a different application and may not have the sidewall stiffness of the Super Sport. I gather from Roger that sidewall stiffness is important for the Monaro to handle well. Has anyone tried these yet?
Thanks,
Steve.

Think he is meaning more that the CUP2 is essentially a track tyre. It only has around 5-6mm worth of tread from new. It isn't really a road tyre, it's a track tyre that can be us d on the road. While the MPSS and it's replacement is a road tyre. Good tread life, doesn't need to get hot to work it's best. More tread from new. So they last longer and they will resist aquaplaning more etc etc.
If it only ever came out in the sun and was locked away the rest of the time. I could understand the cup2. As a daily driver tyre it's not a good choice.

Didnt think there was a actual replacement yet for the mpss wich i will be staying with as they are a brilliant tyreIf it only ever came out in the sun and was locked away the rest of the time. I could understand the cup2. As a daily driver tyre it's not a good choice.
