New Ls7 clutch
Discussion
New clutch fitted as title. Jst got the car back today and doesn't feel anything like a new clutch. Feels almost flat to the floor and only needs to be lifted a fraction to get biting point. Then it's a bit jumpy and annoying to drive after that.
If I'm sitting in traffic in neutral sounds like you can hear the clutch but soon as I dip the clutch pedal it goes silent.
Driving me a bit mad Jst now. Obviously I'll be taking it back to the garage asap. But I know there will someone here that knows what the problem is Jst so I've got some technical understanding of what the prob could be before I take it back first thing Monday morning. 😂
I've also had the centrac servo replaced so don't know if there's someway the clutch can still be adjusted up a bit to get a smoother gear change.
Thanks guys

A wild guess would be to get the clutch fluid bled again. It sounds like air is still in the system. Start with the cheaper options and take it from there.
When I had a new clutch fitted by Monkfish a few months ago, it was perfect. In fact the bite point of the clutch was higher than expected and I managed to stall the car in front of everybody as I left !!!

It was a company not far from me in south Lanarkshire called alpine transitions.
The guy did say he'd never worked on a big ozy beauty before
I will mention the zeroing bit to him when I take it back down but with this being a transmitions place you'd think they would've dealt with that kinda thing before. it's Jst a cv8 Monaro aswell so would defo expect them to have dealt with a lot more sophisticated systems than that before. I'd expect it to be like fitting a clutch in dumper compared to some new audi's n stuff like that. ( only tools needed a big flat screwdriver and a hammer) lol.
I was definitely expecting a lot higher biting point like what you mentioned. But it's as if it bites then if You want a smooth Change You need to ride the clutch a bit and it Jst isn't nice to drive at all. Was really looking forward to having it back aswell. Now I Jst wanti scrap it lol

Cheers mate. Think I'm gonnie need it. It's not exactly a cheap thing to get fixed so for what you pay out parts and labour you'd expect to get something that feels like new.
Just hoping it'll be something simple like drawing air from a bad seal.
Is there another component like a slave cylinder or is that covered by the centrac servo?

That's what I was afraid of. You would be able to tell me being a mechanic would you be obliged to fix that if you done the job originally or will it be another costly one for me? Lol
It's Jst goin from bad to worse was about to get it to the garage and now my power steering cooling pipes burst. Lol
If I never laughed I would've been crying
