I presume you're talking about a CV8?

I have to admit that I have no idea about what's best or how to do it. Perhaps if you enlighten us about why you want to do it and what you're trying to achieve afterwards you might get some more replies.

Good luck with it anyway thumbup

Looks pretty easy to me. I have some seats that are out of a Monaro. I can send you pictures of underside of the front and rear seats and rear seat backs. Not sure about the plastic backing on the fronts - can't be that hard though.

Not done this myself on the Monaro, but based on this photo of a rear Pontiac GTO seat cover, it looks like it's got the same fitting method as most other cars I've seen.

Mix of velcro and j clips basically. There may also be some circular metal clips, but these can be easily removed and replaced with pliers in my experience (but not seen any mention of these being used on the GTO/Ro).

No idea how to split the seat though. Got this off a US GTO site:

"First remove the large back panel this will give you access to the straps. Then remove the lumbar adjuster. There is a cover that needs to be removed and a phillips screwdriver to take off the adjuster. As for the headrest i used a small allen to put into a small hole on the side then just lift up. Also there is a screw that needs to be removed for the seat belt handle. The leather needs to be pulled away from this and the headrest holder. It is tight but does come off."

Just remember to disconnect the battery if you are intending on unplugging the side airbags.

Leatherman is an owner and might have first hand experience if he's around.
