Is it my imagination or does this VXR have a CV8 (i.e. longer) gear knob?

Fine knobby anorak skills...well, it's all in the shaft smile

Does make you wonder why. I'd suddenly want to check it's got the right ratios in the gearbox as once you spot one oddment...

Good spot Arnie. That's definitely a CV8 gear stick in terms of height. So what else is possibly wrong with it as 'Mud" says

Fairly sure that this Monaro came from a forum member from Southport. Guess he's not on here any more.

Rusty rear arches and Chinese ditchfinders. One to ignore I think.....

Poor company, tried to sell me an RX8 R3 a few months ago with dodgy compression, when I took it to a specialists he also said they had dangerously over filled the engine with oil and advised them to drop some of it there and then.

The Monaro had just come in (Oct 2016) and was looking very sorry for itself, definitely one to avoid at all costs

CV8 and vxr knows are the same. It's the stem underneath that is shorter in the vxr. Could be the race Ripshifter handle as this is cv8 length.

Noticed this myself, thought maybe it might have some sort of short shifter fitted with a longer stem?

Doesn't look like the best example out there but the price seems fair enough, no?

Could be very different in the flesh though I guess.

As previously stated it was in very poor nick when I saw it pre sale a few months ago in their compound. The ditchfinders on it tell you what you need to know about the cars previous owner and I would be interested to know what service history it has as there is no mention in the ad. Not a company I would do business with on personal experience as the car I walked away from was still being advertised after the test with no mention of poor compression. If I see the car locally I will grab the owner to tell him/her about it
