Hello. Happy new year and all that. Curretly looking for my first vxr8. If anybody knows of good car please get in touch. Probably going for a 2007 as there seems to be a jump in ££ to the 2008 and above. Cheers pete

All depends if you want a standard one low or high miles
S/c or not
Get a project or one already finished and save some cash 💰

What's your budget?

There's a bit of a jump in price between LS2 and LS3 cars, but modifications, mileage and condition are more important IMO. There's a good sticky FAQ that's worth a read.

You'll save a huge amount by buying a car that's already got choice modifications. Depending on your location, I'd get along to one of the meets and speak to one of the known traders like Elite or MWP.

Mwp are 10 mins from me. Iv been past a few times but it always looks busy so didnt want to pop in. Im in no rush. My initial budget was £13k but as time goes by this will increase. Iv done a vast amount of re search on the r8. From discs, pads, wishbones ect iv priced everything up. Even clutch kits, water pumps ect so im going in with my eyes wide open. I am mobile mechanic on large mobile cranes so nothing really worrys me mechanically but will at least get it serviced at mwp but anything major il be doing it myself. Iv never been in the position to buy a really good car but you somtimes get an amazing break in life and now feel like im really going to enjoy it!

Go in to MWP. They're enthusiasts and run VXR8s themselves. If you're happy to bring a car back to its prime over time, they may know of one which they wouldn't take for stock, but will fit your budget.

Good luck with the hunt. smile

If you're happy to travel (and there's not many so that may be necessary) then also see what Elite (preciousmetal on here) knows that's about

Il travel anywhere, i went to luton last week to pick a evo 8 up with my brother in law on the condition he has to take me when i find my car.
Thanks for the advice on asking mwp it never even crossed my mind that they may know where a car is for sale not good enough for stock.
I missed a lovelly black r8 on ebay just before christmas. I thought it was possibly a scam untill i spoke to the guy on another forum. Hay ho you snooze you lose!

I had mine on ebay just before Christmas, didnt sell though. At the time it was the cheapest one on ebay and with a very good spec. I've still got it at the moment if you're interested?

Only mod id like is an exhaust upgrade. Switchable wortecs would be a massive bonus. Other than that just a decent looked after car with decent discs/pads ect. Its going to be my wifes daily driver but she only works 2 days a week.

Hi There.

When i got mine, the first thing i changed was the exhaust, to the wortec system. I didn't bother with switchable, just left it without, less to go wrong IMOA.

Makes me smile every time i drive my car, the sound is biggrinbiggrinbouncebounceroflroflwoohoowoohoothumbup

Just to wet your appetite, here is my carthumbup

Apart from exhaust and lowering springs, totally standard.
