Std width single garage - No - unless you climb out the window and are normally too long to close the door

Suppose it's best to get measurements of garage as they do differ in size due to when built

They do, but it is a bit of a tight fit.
Mick (Snowolf)managed ok, I think he did a few things to his garage to make it easier to get in without hitting anything.

a strip of wood screwed to the floor helps so you don't hit the wall just the wood , the sensors go off long before you are in the right space in the garage , and carpet mats screwed to the walls so when you get out no door damage caused , my monaro fits easily in an apparently standard size council garage , maloo is hard work as longer than the r8 , if i plan to move then where i'm going i have to change garage doors to outside edge of brick work and i'm still only got a matter of 6 inches or so spare , my limiting factor on moving is garage size and number for me and for the mrs is what is the kitchen like

I thought most garages where of a similar size, luckily mines oversized, not bad for a council rented garage.

Hi, I had this issue and had to find out the hard way.

The standard garage door is 2100mm in width, which does not help as some websites say that the vxr8 is 2100mm wide some say it's 1980mm wide.

Anyway mine fits through a standard garage door with around 4-5 cm either side but you will have to fold 1 door mirror in.....The problem you face is getting out the vehicle once inside. Where abouts are you based?

Forgot to mention the length too! I have a load of foam padding at the back and sides, once vehicle is in the front bumper is right up to the foam with only 4" spare at the back once the door is shut.

Generally I would say no but if it does fit it will be a very tight squeeze.

I can measure my garage today, it's a standard size and the Vxr8 fitted in ok, I need to have passenger mirror slightly folded in, I also have two 1 metre high x 30cm wide mirrors from ikea at the end of the garage, you can see from drivers seat exactly where you are when entering the garage, it a tight fit but don't have any problems getting out the car and I'm not the thinnest of people lol

My garage is slightly bigger than standard, takes the R8 with ease - i reckon it would accomodate most American Muscle Cars, though probably not a Plymouth GTX! smile
