Hi everyone, don't post very often ( hardly ever ) but I'm a long time lurker.

I've got a LS2 R8 auto, When I press lightly on the peddle to pull away very little happens, press a little bit more and all hell breaks loose, finding it very hard to pull away at a reasonable pace its either too slow or too fast.

I've had the car for almost a year, its not my daily drive so I don't know if its me or the car, would have though I'd be use to it by know.

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem or if there's anything to check

It really shouldn't be that hard. I have a ls2 auto and I have no issues at all with pulling away sensibly, it really ought to be easy. Not sure what to suggest though, I guess anyone with a ODB2 device should be able to read the throttle position and see if its an issue with that.

Hold down left button on steering wheel and turn on ignition and have a look at the menu - should be a throttle position sensor reading.

Does it do it in manual mode as well?

OK, throttle position sensor readings are 21.1 closed 99.6 open seems to move steadily through the numbers from closed to open although when I first checked, closed was 19.6 but wouldn't go back to that after pressing the peddle.

Its a bit better on manual mode but I think thats because in auto the box is changing gear a lot sooner and doesn't help, still have to be gentle on the throttle

What is the issue with it exactly? Does nothing happen with the engine then it shoots off, or does the engine rev before the torque converter applies the drive and then goes? I guess the easiest way to tell if its you or the car is to try someone else's. I'm in Bristol if that helps.

My auto LS3 readily goes into first gear when I slow down to a junction (for example) and 'surges' at take off unless I am very gentle with the throttle.

I was told (by Monkfish) that this set up was to give the auto comparable performance to the manual; I'm paraphrasing of course.
