Hi all,

Want to upgrade my in tank fuel pump. What options are there that are just a pump swap?

Been looking at CTS-V pumps which look the same as the VXR8 pump but twin pump. But do they need a PWM controller in addition?

I've fitted a 450lph Walboro into the standard VXR8 pump housing, but currently have an issue of it sealing correctly, so while I fix that, want to see what other options there are.

Cheers

Isaac

What fuel are you using and what sort of power ?

450 will support a fair bit of power on pump fuel.

I run an Aeromotive Stealth 325LPH. 650+ BHP and still plenty of fuel:

A pump of that flow will be pretty hard pushed at that power level. Although I guess it depends how/where that power level is measured.

Unless your injectors are quite large and are running a low base with 1:1 boost ref pressure, then for more power you'd really need to consider more pump.

A pair of 450's would easily support 16-1700hp though on petrol...hence asking why the OP feels a need to upgrade. Less on E85.

On pump fuel, the issue is that I was trying to fit the 450 in the standard fuel pump housing and couldn't quite get it to seal correctly.
So rather than trying down that route, I've gone for a CTS-v twin pump and PWM control unit. Which will see me to where I need to get to for now easily

60lb injectors
std pwm fuel system with aeromotive pump replacing std one.
573 wheel HP and fuel pulled to lean it out.
Very pleased with the performance of a simple drop in replacement pump
