VXR8 Build Plate
Discussion
Hi, this bit of PH seems as active as the TVR sections. Must be the V8 that does it.
I'm kind of, maybe, possibly, thinking about an early VXR8, probably 6.0 auto, maybe an LS3/6.2 if I can stretch to it.
They seem to be near enough depreciation-proof and more importantly bullet-proof, apart from regular suspension and brake consumables and the rear light clusters playing up, and was wondering exactly what the build plate looks like.
I've searched on here and confirmed it's on the passenger side strut tower - how easy is it to decipher what the build number is when looking at the plate, and what options it had from the factory?
I'm going to start looking at cars soon, and would like to match a car up with the previous owner listed in the Ultimate Build Register if possible just to find out more of it's history, and see how many times it's been round the clock... or round a tree, up the strip etc etc It looks like nearly all the 300 cars have been accounted for which is very useful as a potential buyer.
I'm not suggesting anyone should stick a pic of their plate up on the internet, but any guidance would be much appreciated. It's probably a dumb question and dead obvious when you look at a plate isn't it?

This might help. There were 567 last time I saw a number mentioned.
6 minute response time.
Not bad, not bad at all
Thanks for the pic (non standard air intake there by the looks of it?) - location is as I was hoping.
Is the build number dead easy to decipher - no vin decoders needed etc? Just a plain dead obvious 3 digit number?
