Locked out. Help!
Discussion
Hey guys.
Jst returned from working away from home for nearly a month and can't get into my cv8. I must of deadlocked it last time I locked it up. Using the key doesn't seem to be working.
I do remember someone on here years ago saying something about if it's deadlocked you need to turn the key that hard it'll almost feel like your about to break it.
Didn't really want to risk that just incase. So thought I'd ask you guys.
Obviously I could phone green flag but there's always some real helpfull people on here so thought I'd ask first.
Thanks.

I recently had the same issue with my VZ SV6 (poor replacement for my Monaro )
I followed the advice to turn it so hard you think it will break... and it broke
I would love to insert the broken piece into whoever signed off on a car that you can't get into when the battery is flat!
I ended up breaking the door handle out of the door so I could unlock it, then had to pay for a new key to start it.

If it's a big boot. Go in through the boot. Punch out the centre arm. The clip often won't break. If it does it's not expensive.
The issue is the for is normally deadlocked from the fob so you have to force the lock past it's clip. It's a bad design. Also I fine lubricating the boot and door and locking/unlocking a few times a year helps.

How do you get in the boot when the battery is flat? The issue is the for is normally deadlocked from the fob so you have to force the lock past it's clip. It's a bad design. Also I fine lubricating the boot and door and locking/unlocking a few times a year helps.

Are you sure? I thought there was a yellow lever hidden between two of the cushions of the back seats that mechanically opens the boot from inside the cabin when the battery is flat. But I suppose if the battery was completely dead and you needed to get into the boot, you'd use the key to manually open the drivers door, climb into the back and then be able to manually open the boot.
