OK before I get flamed I know that a proper remap is the way to go but just wondering whether anyone has tried a plug in type tune as available in the US for the Pontiac GTO? As their fuel is rated differently would they compatible anyway?
My 06 Monaro is running headers, exhaust and a modified airbox so I'm presuming a tune of some kind would be beneficial?
TIA

Their 93 is about same as our 97/98 so not a huge difference. My 06 Monaro is running headers, exhaust and a modified airbox so I'm presuming a tune of some kind would be beneficial?

But given the many many model/ecu variations etc getting a tune right straight out of the box from afar...is unlikely.
Really you would be best finding a competent tuner within the UK who can do the job for you. Although some guys here have had good luck with remote tunes from some of the experienced US guys, but again dont think it's a 1 shot affair, they can take some to n fro recording and sending data to nail things down....which requires some gear and user effort at this end as well as the experience of the tuner at the other end.
All a bit messy really.

Stick a cam in it and then get a custom tune doneMy 06 Monaro is running headers, exhaust and a modified airbox so I'm presuming a tune of some kind would be beneficial?

I would recommend remote tuning. Get yourself HP Tuners-Pro and a wideband first then contact a reputable tuner stateside. I use Patrick Guerra (Pat-G) and couldn't be happier. My car is making 4 digit power and he tuned it no problem. In the past with my supercharged setup, he also did the mapping.
Cost of tuning is relatively cheap $350-$400 then free after that. When I went from supercharged to turbo....he made the calibrations free of charge. I still message him every now and then if I'd like something tweaked.
