It might sound silly but have you checked that your tyres are all the same size?
I had an Omega years ago and when I bought it from a dealer they had fitted different sized profile tyres and that threw a spanner in the works with the abs sensors, the sensors thought that one wheel was turning faster than the other one on the same axle.
Took it back and got them to fit the correct size tyre and the fault went.

I've heard of different tyre makes (same size) throwing sensors off as well....I think it was front to back as well so the axles were the same (2 pairs different makes). Knowing me it was probably a Vauxhall so you guys will probably say that's the excuse ;¬)

if it's coming back on i don't think you found the problem , was the sensor and the abs ring in the right place and clean , is the plug definitely in there correctly and was there another sensor that's failed , have you re code read it too see what's now coming up ? i did not look to see but i heard the r8 wires to the sensor can fail and the sensor be ok
