Coolant/Heater hoses
Discussion
Monaro - those stupid hoses that get rubbed/cut almost by default - firstly, what a flaw that is! Secondly, has anyone devised a way of protecting them further than just cable tying them up to the bulkhead to gain some clearance?
Any form of additional shields or anything?
I have seen that mine has evidence of damage, so I will be replacing them soon and want to know if there is anything I can do to try to prevent it from reoccurring or at least extending their life a lot more...

I just used a black half inch thick heavy duty foam pad, and secured it with a wide cable tie to the heater pipe itself. The pad rests up against the cylinder head, which is the bit that would usually slice through the rubber pipe.
That job was done years ago, and Its still OK to this day!
