Has anyone got any experience with swapping the airbag VX badge with the HSV one on a Monaro? I've found the badge but just wondered what its like to actually replace without scratching anything or setting the airbag off!

The only sensible option is to buy a Holden airbag (£££).

I wouldn't recommend 'fitting' a metal disk to something that's going to explode in your face...

I've got a complete HSV badge set but put up with the Griffin on the steering wheel.

I bought an HSV sticker that goes perfectly over the top of the Griffin on the steering wheel.

Be careful not to press too hard when sticking it down, otherwise the outline of the Griffin shows through.

It was £14 from eBay. Not as good as a pucker badge obviously, but cheaper and easier to fit!

I can't work out how to post the link, but if you search on eBay for HSV Steering Wheel Badge, its the one that's £11.99 plus p&p.

It's the cheap option, but it covers over the griffin nicely.

really as you can buy the genuine badge I assumed it could be fitted without too much trouble.

I've swapped mine over and I can honestly say it is not an easy thing. You have to be very, very patient carefully prising the horrid looking chicken badge off or you'll tear the airbag cover. Be prepared to punch yourself in the face a few times as your hands slip! Took about thirty minutes in the end to get the old one off. They have two tabs on the back which lock into the airbag cover, just a press fit but they are very tight.

Used a strong glue to hold the HSV one on. Looks awesome, and worth the effort. (Thanks again Sturdy!)

Complete HSV airbags are available from Aus secondhand but the texture may be slightly different. You would need to ship them by sea freight, not air. From memory circa £140-180 door to door when I looked into it.

The griffin badge is stuck on so you can pull that away leaving the silver disc therefore sticking the new sticker in that recess, be warned, the griffin sticker is a bh to shift as it stuck down real good but does come off.
