Thanks Ferret!

Thanks to Ferret (Nick)for performing his laptop magic on my Monaro dash cluster so that it now reads Holden instead of Vauxhall on start up. I think mine must be one of the last to get changed over to Holden or HSV.
I also got to drive his Ro which has AP brakes. Such a shame that my standard 05 CV8 brakes are so poor in comparison. I think it's a bit like the Quick-rack in as much as that's what it should have been like when it left the factory. I'll get mine done after Christmas.

SOCO, don't feel too bad, I'm in the same boat as you, I have an 05 CV8 and I need AP brakes, and also a Holdon start up logo would be great. Sadly no chance any time soon.I also got to drive his Ro which has AP brakes. Such a shame that my standard 05 CV8 brakes are so poor in comparison. Nick did my logo too and it looks much better , SOCO have you thought of improving what you have or are you already running out of brakes , downside with aps is cost and don't like standing around too long or need to be kept dry
Hi Chris, Nick's Ro lives in a dry garage like mine and he doesn't get any rust issues with his APs. I guess if the car was outside in the rain it would be a deal breaker for me as I don't get to drive the Ro at all some weeks. I've already got Performance Friction pads that The Fish rates so well and the difference for me driving with APs was a bit of an eye opener.I take your point about cost, but that big brake kit also looks the business behind the wheels and you know how it is..... you make decisions on these cars with your heart (and possibly other parts), not your head.

Nope mine still says Vauxhall....I am one of the few who actually like their cars (as I have a penchant for mk2 cavaliers), makes me odd I know I also got to drive his Ro which has AP brakes. don't worry you are not odd for wanting the vauxhall logo , it's normally badged as that , i just felt the holden one is more fitting for the car but i've not changed the badges , i also had the cold engine rev limit put on it beeps and flashes change gear if you rev too much when it's cold , ap's are a big improvement , i'm lucky i have a garage i leave it in gear with handbrake off , if it's not used for a while i will go in and rock it back and forth to free the brakes up it's normally fine , the rust issue is mainly if put away wet , the issue can be off set a bit by having warm brakes before you put it away , how you warm the brakes is down to you
